This is what happens when I take 2 months off this by accident jesus christ man this is pathetic. In the meantime I turned 40 against my will,which I think officially makes me the oldest man in my family history to not go to jail at any point and more importantly the only straight edge one-went to a bunch of shows put on a bunch of shows but more importantly released a ton of stuff…I’ll go in reverse order

JOYSTICK FURY is bringing the 97 revival style back to it’s rightful place in KUTZTOWN if you’re into things like the GROWING STRONGER comp and putting your arm around your friend in the pit and finger pointing.I caught their first show and they delivered, ending the set with an ATARI cover while members of the band sang along which was sick to see. I always love when a band pays homage to a sound specific to its area and even moreso the more that hardcore is homogenized and there’s no such things as regional bands anymore.These guys and Flip The Switch are starting something cool in the Lehigh Valley which has been mostly dormant for 20 years or so so respect to their whole squad

WHO REMEMBERS followed up their multi platinum release from earlier this year “hardcore demo” with a new ep STILL KICKIN. The mosh is moshier the songs are catchier the vocals and lyrics are even better the art would make picasso cry at how great it is love this release. I’ll never forgive myself for the only time in my life trying to convince a band to change their name before the first show, i’m a moron these kids are geniuses and are taking a fucking train from NJ to make it to FYA so show some respect to them and grab a tape or crewneck in the store

FALSE SALVATION came back with their new EP “Through Shards Of Glass” in time for the BLACKLISTED reunion(which was…over a month ago at this point god damnit I suck) These songs are definitely a step up from the demo and kids were into it live, they ended the set with an unholy medley of tri state hardcore(Let Down/Clubber Lang/Horror Show)

THE DIFFERENCE put up tapes for their promo from a few months back,they’ve been working on the EP which will be out next year sometime. here’s them kicking ass a couple weeks back

WITS END put out their second demo which like the first one sold out almost instantly. Hardcore is a good example of a butterfly effect situation a lot of the time and Connor moving to the UK for 6 months is one of the best things to ever happen to the scene. If you missed out on the demos you’ll have a chance to have the songs in a different format soonish, they’re gonna be in the states in just over a month for the first but hopefully not only time.

THE SISSY BOYS “LET’S PARTY” LP came out, the pride of Muskegon,Michigan who as I’ve said before I was an instant fan after seeing them at the almighty TIED DOWN fest.They’ve been stealing every show and fest for a minute now and the record is awesome thankfully since I legit heard zero parts of zero songs until it was uploaded which to be honest is the only way I would have wanted this to go. Blindly supporting bands I think are sick will surely ruin the label at some point but I love to gamble.They’re on a weekend coming up with STEAMROLL/SQUARE ONE/FROTHING MAD and KINGS COMMAND-grab a copy of the LP or THE VILLAIN will show up at your front door step

Last but not least the long awaited (at least by me since I think the record got sent to me last DECEMBER originally) CONTEMPT “You Still Suffer” LP finally dropped in all it’s straight edge glory.I love this record and to me everything about it is perfect and exactly what I want out of a hardcore band.9 songs in 9 mins cmon now.These should be arriving anyday now and there’s less than 100 left of the press I think so go grab one.

SCARAB just finished up their west coast run with FATAL REALM and WRETCHED RITE,check it out in what could very well be the last video evidence of ZTP before his untimely demise soon. The first press of the LP is just about out, keep an eye out for a second press soon

START TODAY is about to be in the studio to work on their LP,and are touring down to FYA with the gods COMBUST in January

ELIMINATORS somehow had some records come in time for their record release earlier this month, they’re hitting the east coast in January with young XXX LOSE SIGHT who is one of my favorite newer bands.S/O Ace and the B.A.S.E

.FLIP THE SWITCH has been getting better everytime I see them, this is from SWB earlier this month. They’re getting started on an EP soon
